Therapy for Adults and Couples in Columbus, OH
You don't have to keep overthinking every conversation, carrying everyone else's emotions, or questioning your worth in relationships. Together, we'll help you create lasting change from the inside out.
If you've spent most of your life taking care of everyone else, it can be hard to know what you need, let alone ask for it. You may find yourself caught between wanting deeper connection and feeling afraid of being too much, struggling with anxiety, relationship conflict, people-pleasing, burnout, or the lingering impact of experiences you thought you'd already moved past.
My clients are often thoughtful, self-aware people who have done everything they know how to do to feel better, but still find themselves anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or repeating the same frustrating patterns in their relationships. They aren't looking for quick fixes; they're looking for lasting change. That’s what we accomplish together.
Who is therapy for?
Therapy for the highly capable humans (individuals and couples/partners) find stability and peace within their own mind and relationships during difficult seasons of life.

Being an adult is often far more complicated than anyone prepares us for. Between careers, relationships, family responsibilities, major life transitions, and the pressure to keep everything together, it's easy to lose sight of yourself in the process. You may find yourself feeling anxious, disconnected, overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, or simply wondering why life feels harder than it seems for everyone else. I help adults better understand the emotional, relational, and nervous system patterns shaping their experiences so they can respond to life with greater clarity and intention. Together, we'll create space for healing, self-discovery, and meaningful change. You don't have to keep carrying everything on your own.

Relationships have a way of bringing both our greatest joys and our deepest wounds to the surface. Whether you're feeling disconnected, stuck in recurring arguments, struggling to rebuild trust, or simply wanting to strengthen your connection, couples therapy offers a space to slow down and understand what's really happening beneath the conflict. I help couples move beyond surface-level disagreements to uncover the emotions, needs, and attachment patterns driving them. Together, we'll improve communication, strengthen emotional safety, and create new ways of relating that help both partners feel seen, understood, and valued. Healthy relationships aren't built by avoiding conflict—they're built by learning how to navigate it together.

Parenting can be one of the most rewarding roles you'll ever have—and one of the most demanding. The constant responsibility, endless decision-making, shifting family dynamics, and pressure to be everything for everyone can leave even the most devoted parents feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. Many parents find themselves struggling with guilt, burnout, anxiety, or wondering if they're getting it right. I help parents create space for their own emotional needs while navigating the realities of raising children. Together, we'll explore what's contributing to stress, strengthen your confidence as a parent, and develop practical tools that help family life feel more connected and manageable. Caring for yourself isn't separate from caring for your family—it's part of it.

When one person in a family is struggling, the entire system feels it. Families naturally develop patterns, roles, and ways of interacting that can either strengthen connection or unintentionally create tension and misunderstanding. Over time, family members may begin feeling unheard, disconnected, or stuck in the same conflicts without knowing how to move forward. I help families better understand the patterns influencing their relationships, improve communication, and create healthier ways of supporting one another. Together, we'll work toward building a family environment where each person feels respected, understood, and able to grow while maintaining meaningful connection. Families don't need to be perfect to thrive—they need the tools to navigate life's challenges together.

Consistently losing yourself?
Maybe you feel anxious or on edge in your closest relationships — overthinking texts, replaying conversations, struggling to set a boundary without guilt. Maybe you're the one everyone leans on, the one who fixes things, who can't quite rest until everyone else is okay. You give and give, often at your own expense, and you're starting to wonder where you end and everyone else begins. This pattern often has a name — codependency, or what's sometimes called poor differentiation of self — and it's more common, and more treatable, than it feels. I help clients untangle from old patterns of people-pleasing and over-functioning, build a stronger, steadier sense of self, and learn how to stay connected to others without losing themselves in the process. Together, we move from reacting and rescuing to responding from a calmer, more grounded place — one where you can hold onto yourself even when things get hard.

Stuck in the same fight & feeling lost in your relationships?
Maybe it feels like you and your partner keep having the same fight, no matter how many times you've tried to talk it through. Maybe one of you shuts down right when the other needs them to show up, or one partner feels endlessly anxious while the other feels controlled, smothered, or like they can't do anything right. Underneath it, there's usually not a lack of love — there's a pattern that's keeping you stuck. I help partners get clear on what's actually happening within themselves, communicate it with honesty, and truly take in what the other is sharing — whether you're newly committed, getting married, or have been together for years. This work is for monogamous and ENM/polyamorous relationships alike. Together, we rebuild trust, deepen understanding, and find your way back to each other — your relationship has more potential than you may realize.

When the past won't stay in the past…
Sometimes the experiences you've lived through continue to affect you long after they're over — showing up as anxiety, reactivity, or a felt sense of danger that doesn't match what's actually happening in front of you. EMDR therapy helps your brain process and heal from experiences that have become "stuck," reducing their emotional intensity and impact. Together, we identify what's contributing to your current struggles and reprocess it in a safe, structured way — so you can feel more grounded, present, and connected to the life you want to live.
Therapy for Humans Who Want Healthy, Happy Relationships
At Laurel Haven Counseling, I saw a need for therapy that goes beyond symptom management and helps clients understand the deeper patterns driving anxiety, self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, and relationship challenges. Many people are highly self-aware and capable, yet still find themselves repeating the same cycles. My approach helps bridge the gap between insight and lasting change by addressing the emotional, relational, and nervous system patterns beneath the surface.
It is my mission to support clients in developing insight, emotional regulation, and self-trust within a calm and affirming therapeutic environment. Through collaborative, evidence-based care, clients create meaningful change and move from survival toward intentional, connected living. My vision is to inspire growth, clarity, and emotional freedom through connection—where repair feels possible, hope is restored, and resilience is cultivated across the lifespan.
